PDP constitutes 29-man reconciliation committee

The immediate past governor of Jigawa state, Dr Sule Lamido has directed the 29 member reconciliatory committee of the Democratic Peoples Party (PDP) to swing into action in order to reunite the warring factions.

Lamido, who was addressing the supporters of the party Wednesday during the swearing in of the 29 member committee at the PDP secretariat, reminded the members of the need to reconcile and bring the stakeholders together so that the party could take over from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.

Lamido said “it is natural to have conflicting opinion or to have a division among its members, but it is also another thing to reconcile with one another as party members.

Also addressing members and supporters of the PDP, the state PDP chairman, Dr Babandi Ibrahim Gumel said the 29 members of the committee were 14 from the state while the remaining 18 were selected on zonal basis.

Chairman of the committee, Dr Aminu Abdullahi Tauea and secretary, Alhaji Nasiru Sparo promised to do their best to bring unity to the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
