PDP crisis, threat to our 2023 chances – National Vice Chair

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Vice Chairman South West, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has warned that prolonged crisis is threatening the party’s 2023 chances.

Ambassador Arapaja stated this Tuesday during his meeting with aggrieved PDP leaders in Oyo state including Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan, Alhaji Nureni Akanbi, Hon. Femi Babalola, Mallam Yusuf and Michael Ogunlade in Ibadan.

The PDP National Vice Chairman said Nigerians are eagerly waiting for PDP to form the next government that will bring succour to them and that at this point, ” the only thing needed for us is to chat a way forward to put an end to this lingering crisis.”

“It’s imperative that we all put our hands on deck for the success of the party as it would be absolutely wrong to continue experiencing crisis in our domiciled state. If this trend continues, it’s advanced way of writing invitation letter to 2011 experience”, he said.

Ambassador Arapaja added, “though, grievances, conflicts and misunderstanding are unavoidable in human institution, the ability to manage ourselves is very essential and it’s a best way to describe family affairs.”

The PDP National Vice Chairman stressed that there is the need for PDP leaders and stakeholders to give peace a chance, particularly in Oyo state stressing that the leaders at the meeting should appreciate the fact that one of them from the late High Chief Lamidi Adedibu political orientation is today occupying the position of National Vice Chairman of the party.

He stressed that all hands must be on deck to protect the interest of the late strongman of Ibadan politics, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu and the need to avoid anything that could cause acrimony should be totally discouraged.

In their remarks, Engr Femi Babalola, Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan and Alhaji Nureni Akanbi expressed their displeasure with the Seyi Makinde’s style of party party leadership in Oyo state, accusing the governor of not handling the party properly as they expected the governor to have listened to their grievances at inception.
