PDP gearing up against 2023 elections in Jigawa – Mungybi

The recently constituted Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s local government caretaker committees are expected to work hard to settle all disputes and bring the warring factions of the party together as one family.

In an exclusive interview with our correspondent, the state caretaker chairman, Umar Mungybi, said he ensured that all aggrieved party members are not left behind.

He stated that Jigawa state PDP caretaker committee has inaugurated its local government caretaker committee chairmen to handle the party’s affairs in all the 27 local government areas of the state.

“The establishment of a 5-man committee in all the local government areas in the state is part of the strategy to ensure that due process for electing party leaders from the grass root is strictly followed.”

He added that PDP is a party built on principles of democracy and human development which is empowered to provide equal opportunity for every party member as well as accommodate good Nigerians willing to join the party.

He stated further that: “The state caretaker committee work cannot be complete without the effort and input of the local government caretaker committees that were recently inaugurated.

“The inaugurated committees are to work hard in line with the party’s constitution to ensure all party members are carried along.”

PDP in Jigawa has for sometime been factionalised between  the factions of former Governor Sule Lamido and Aminu Ibrahim Ringim who contested twice as its governorship candidate in 2015 and 2019.
