‘PDP ‘ll use council polls to reassert dominance in Rivers’

The Chief of Staff to the Rivers state governor, Engr. Emeka Woke,  has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will use forthcoming April 17, council election to reassert its dominance in Rivers state.

Woke said Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike’s huge investments in infrastructure projects  across the twenty three Local Government Areas of the State will spur the people to vote overwhelmingly for the PDP in the April 17, 2021.

Kelvin Ebiri, Special Assistant (Media) to the Governor of Rivers State said in his press statement on Tuesday that the Chief of Staff made this assertion during the PDP campaign for the April 17 council poll in Emohua, the headquarters of  Emohua LGA.

He urged PDP stalwarts and supporters in Emohua to come out and vote in mass for the party in the forthcoming polls  in order to reassert  their voting strength in the area.

“Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will soon embark on revalidation exercise. So, we need to use the election to reassert our strength.”

He recalled that during the 2019 general election, PDP  recorded some of its highest votes in Emohua. According to him, a similar feat will be repeated in next week council polls.

In his opening remark, the Director General of the PDP Campaign Council , Hon John Wokoma, said the party is sure of  victory based on the achievements of Governor Wike.

Also, PDP chairman in the Emohua Local government area, Uche Miniku said Emohua will continue to support the PDP because of  enormous infrastructural development projects executed in the council  under Wike’s administration.

Meanwhile, the PDP chairmanship candidate for Emohua ,Dr. Chidi Lloyd said his administration will consolidate on the good work of Governor Wike.

He explained that his development blueprint for Emohua council will be transformational and impactful  on the lives of the people.
