PDP mourns caretaker chairman in Ebonyi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ebonyi state Sunday mourned the demise of Its chieftain Elder Fred Udeogu.

Udeogu was the immediate past caretaker chairman of the party and has held so many positions in the government of Ebonyi state both in Governors Martin Elechi and David Umahi’s administrations.

In a statement by the state party Chairman, Tochukwu Okorie, noted that Udeogu’s unflinching dedication and service to the party provided much-needed fatherly encouragement and stability in the party.

It reads, “The People’s Democratic Party and indeed the entire Ebonyi State were thrown into mourning on Friday, December 3, 2022, following the unfortunate passing of Elder Fred Udeogu, one of our great leaders and immediate past Caretaker Chairman of PDP Ebonyi State.

“Elder Udeogu until his death remained unflinching in his dedication and service to the party which provided the much-needed fatherly encouragement and stability within the ranks of the party. Worthy of specific note is his tremendous role to quell the little internal crisis that threatened our corporate unity as he worked tirelessly openly and behind the scenes to ensure that peace returned to the fold.

“Ebonyi PDP commiserates with his family and we pray for solace, divine direction, and courage to navigate through this very difficult bend in their lives. May his soul rest in peace.

“The party will make a necessary announcement in due course as we await details of activities as will be announced by the family”.
