PDP stalwart tasks Shema over agric commissioner

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Katsina state, Alhaji Nura Lawal Qasim, has called on Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema to caution the Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji, Musa Adamu Funtua, over the commissioner’s alleged constant assault on the deputy governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Faskari.

Qasim, who made the call an interview with newsmen in Katsina, noted that the alleged commissioner’s supporters several attacks on the deputy governor and his supporters was threatening peace in the state.
He said: “We all know that happened in Malumfashi recently where the deputy governor, commissioner for local government and their supporters were attacked during a working visit to the area.”

The stalwart added that the recent fracas in Daudawa town that led to the disruption of the state Agric Show was allegedly plotted by the commissioner after the alleged attack on the deputy governor while representing the governor at the opening  ceremony of the event.

He, therefore, argued that “the deputy governor was not at the event in his own capacity he was there representing the governor. So any attack on his should be considered as attack on the governor.”
He called on the governor to urgently intervene to, according to him, “stop this constant attack on your deputy.”
“We know the governor is a peacemaker and always preaches peace. We know he will not allow this to continue.”
