PDP strategises to stop Oshiomhole’s Senatorial ambition

The leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state has said it would deploy 80 per cent of its resources to ensure victory for Sen. Francis Alimikhena, the party’s Edo North Senatorial candidate, for the 2023 poll.

The chairman of the PDP in the state, Mr. Tony Aziegbemi, disclosed this while receiving dozens of All Progressives Congress (APC) defectors, alongside with Sen. Francis Alimikhena, to the party.

A former national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, hails from Edo North, and he is seeking Senatorial seat on the party’s platform.

Aziegbemi who commended the new entrants said, “Edo North Senatorial seat is a must win for PDP.

“80 per cent of our time and resources would be deployed to Edo North. This is because of the man Alimikhena that was denied a ticket by his formal party.”

Also, the deputy governor, Phillip Shaibu, who lauded the defectors’ decision to dump the APC, said, “I am sure it’s because of your understanding of what government should be and you decided to say Edo and Nigeria must move forward.”
