PDP to hold emergency NEC meeting over election postponement



The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for an emergency national executive committee (NEC) meeting over the postponement of last Saturday elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).


In a statement signed by PDP National publicity secretary and its director media and publicity of presidential campaign organization, Kola Ologbondiyan Monday confirmed that the NEC meeting was scheduled to take place tomorrow, 19th February, 2019.


The state reads: “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will hold an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Tuesday, February 19,  2019.
“Venue:  PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.Time: 12 noon.”


However, a source close to the party told Blueprint that the meeting was to address issues around the postponement of the general elections.


He said : ” The emergency NEC meeting is to address many issues, part of it is the postponement of the general elections and how to ensure that the party and its candidates come out victorious on the new date, 23rd February, 2019.”
