PDP vows to ‘sack’ only member-elect who clinched A’Ibom assembly seat as APC candidate

The People’s Democratic Party has said it would employ all legitimate means to stop the only House Of Assembly member, Honourable Nse Ntuen, re-elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state from being part of next legislative assembly.

Ntuen is one of four serving Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in the state assembly who defected to the APC, along with Senator Akpabio late last year and were subsequently suspended by the house.

Ntuen won March 9 state assembly election to represent Essien Udim constituency for the second time.

Election in nine wards were cancelled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, Ntuen got highest legitimate votes PDP has insisted they would use all legal means to stop him from performing his legislative duties .

The Comrade Ini Ememobong , the state party publicity secretary party said: “You cannot be a House of Assembly member after winning two wards out of a local government area that has 11 wards. We will use every legal means to ensure that the wishes of Essien Udim people stand.”

“There is a case of certificate forgery against the candidate of the APC, Mr. Nse Ntuen, where he claimed to have obtained a degree certificate from the University of Calabar (UNICAL) and the school has written to us, telling us that they don’t know him.”
