PDP youths seek youth inclusion in transformation agenda

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Leaders has appealed to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, to involve more youths in his transformation agenda in order to contribute their own quota to the development of the country.

This was stated in a communique issued by the various youth leaders at a one-day workshop organised by the PDP National Youth Leader, Abdullahi Maibasira, in collaboration with the  International Republican Institute (IRI), on the theme; ‘setting new Agenda for PDP Youth Transformation’ held at the PDP National Headquarters in Wadata Plaza Abuja.

According to the communique, the youth leaders pledged their loyalty, solidarity and support to the new leadership of the PDP under the headship of its National Chairman, Alh. Adamu Ahmed Mu’azu.
Expressing satisfaction on the steps by the leadership of the PDP towards reconciling aggrieved members, as well as reinforcing the lofty objectives of the founding fathers of the Party.

The workshop urged Nigerian Youth to be good ambassadors of the PDP by engaging in activities that can promote peace and development of the country, charging them to be actively involved in the 2015 general elections as well as conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner.

The workshop encouraged the party leadership to facilitate a state by state/Zonal Tours for the youth leadership in order to mobilise the base of the party, while it applauded the new guidelines for registration/affiliation of youth groups and encouraged speedy implementation.

Youths were tasked to ensure consensus building, through radical departure from the decadent past, while striving for excellence, enthronement of best practices in all aspects of the society and constructive engagement
It also charged those in positions of power and authority to see themselves as people who are elected or appointed to serve as both custodian  of the present and caretakers of the future, and as such should always take decisions  that guarantee a protected and progressive future for our youth.
