Peace ambassador agency joins global leaders, United Nations to mark World Peace Day

The president and founder, Peace Ambassador Agency Worldwide, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, has joined world leaders and the United Nations (UN) to celebrate World Peace Day on Wednesday September 21.

Amb Amafibe who is the organiser of Peace Achievers Award and others said to achieve the union nation’s development goal, all hands must be on deck to facilitate world peace.

He called on African leaders to entrench nationhood and peaceful coexistence amongst themselves while adding that Russia and Ukraine must find lasting solution to the disagreement that has turned the country into a war zone.

“My organisation goal is to see that there’s lasting peace in the world, hence, we organise different event to mark this day and celebrate those who have contributed to peace around the globe.

“I believe that world leaders can come together to reflect and forge a way forward for nations to have peace and live a life that would promote economic stability, than war and insecurity. I urge everyone to be steadfast in their dealings for the world to be a better place and a peace planet,” he said.

Each year, the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September.

The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.
