Peace, security: FG’s commitment to build youth’s capacity unprecedented – Official

The federal government has expressed determination to sustain the tempo of building the capacity of the youth so that they could be included in the search for peace.

It disclosed this at the opening of a two-day Capacity Development Workshop on National Action Plan on Youth Peace and Security, organised by Actionaid in conjunction with Disputes Resolution and Development Initiative (formerly known as Democratic Action Group (DAG) in Kano Friday.

An assistant director in the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Oyekan Adedoyin, who made the disclosure, said pace and security were indispensable pillars of national development.

He said the federal government was fully committed to a careful scrutiny of the National Action Plan on Youth, Peace and Security in order to develop the much-needed framework for implementation.

Also speaking, the project officer (SERVE III) Actionaid Nigeria, Malam Aliyu Adamu, said Actionaid in collaboration with the Nigeria Coalition on Youth Peace and Security (YPS) had conceived to hold a two-day workshop in Kano “to build the capacity of 50 young people on YPS in the state.
