PERL-ECP thumbs up media for improved programme content in Northeast


A Non-governmental organization, Partnership To Engage, Reform and Learn-Engage Citizens Pillar PERL-ECP has applauded media organisations and social media influencial personalities in the Northeast for improved programme contents for a better society.

PERL-ECP Media consultant, Hadiza Abubakar, disclosed Tuesday at a two-day media reflection meeting on programme content in Dutse, Jigawa
state.

Abubakar said the meeting was all about improving content of programming, and that certain changes had been witnessed.

“We are here to look at the rudiments of work plans developed by our media partners six months ago in Abuja.  What we intend to do was to improve the programme content and with the presentations we so far had, there is tremendous achievements.

“Producers had gone far to advocate on key service delivery sectors of budgets, education, water, agriculture among others,” she said.

The PERL-ECP consultant further, said the meeting will not only look at improving the content but emphasis would also be put on how well it
is being done.

The meeting noted, that lack of modern equipment, look warm attitude by staff, lack of knowledge on ICT were among the reasons of airing programmes with poor contents.

Over 30 media partners drawn across Borno and Yobe states are attending the meeting.
