Peter Obi reacts to Doyin Okupe ‘s resignation as LP campaign DG *See full Letter

Following the resignation of Doyin Okupe as the Director-General of Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign, the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said it was a decision which he respects.

The former governor of Anambra state in a response Letter on Wednesday said he hopes the legal system will help Okupe to get justice.

He acknowledged Okupe’s effort as part of the driving force of his movement which has endeared millions of youths to the party.

Blueprint had reported that Okupe resigned following his conviction by a High Court after receiving more than N200 million in cash from former national security advisor (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.

I received your letter offering to step aside in order to avoid any distraction to the good work of trying to forge a new direction for our country, on board of which you have been from inception. It is a decision which I respect.
