Petrol import in 2018 Q1 hits 5.67bn litres

A new report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) revealed that 5.67 billion litres of premium motor spirits (PMS), 954.47 million litres of automotive gas oil (AGO), 66.914 million litres of household kerosene (HHK) and 5122.067 million litres of aviation turbine kerosene (ATK) were imported into the country in Q1 2018.
The NBS in its petroleum products importation statistics for first quarter 2018, showed that months of March 2018 recorded the highest volumes of premium motor spirits (PMS) imported into the country at 2.41 billion litres while the highest volume of automotive gas oil (AGO) and household kerosene (HHK) were imported in February and January 2018 respectively.
Statewide distribution of truck-out volume for Q1 2018 showed that 4.89 billion of premium motor spirits (PMS), 1.24 billion litres of automotive gas oil (AGO), 201.49 million litres of household kerosene (HHK) and 150.81 million litre of aviation turbine kerosene (ATK) were distributed nationwide during the period under review.
The report further showed that the average daily distribution of PMS stood at 63,003 million litres while figures showed that average daily distribution for AGO, HHK and ATK stood at 10.60 million litres, 743,497 and 1.35 million litres respectively
