Pictures: After Ibiza party with Messi, Suarez returns to Barcelona training ahead La-Liga new season

Luis Suarez has returned from his brief summer holiday in Ibiza to join up with his Barcelona team-mates for a pre-season training session.

Gerard Pique has also returned, a welcome sight for Barcelona fans after his recent injury.

Lionel Messi, who was also in Ibiza with his pal Suarez, is among those still missing from training as Barcelona prepare for the start of the season.

The majority of Barcelona’s veterans joined up with the youngsters as Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde put them through their paces ahead of La Liga getting back underway.

Suarez had actually returned last week, when he was put through a rigorous sandpit session in the Spanish sun before joining Messi for a party in Ibiza over the weekend.

There were reports that Messi was involved in an altercation with a drunk fan, and had to be escorted out of a nightclub, however the Argentine star played down any involvement.

The Barcelona duo then spent the next day on a private yacht with their wives Antonella Roccuzzo and Sofia Balbi, where they were also joined by former team-mate Cesc Fabregas and his wife Daniella Semaan.

New boys Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong were also present at training, along with Moussa Wague, who is expected to feature more prominently in the first team this season.

Griezmann joined from Atletico Madrid for £108million this summer, and the French striker has revealed how excited he is to play alongside ‘the best’ Lionel Messi.

De Jong’s £65million deal was confirmed in January before he joined in July, even though he admitted he always thought he would join Arsenal as a stepping stone to get to a new club.

Defender Pique missed Barcelona’s pre-season clash with Vissel Kobe after complaining of some discomfort in his left thigh, but he seems ready to return to action soon.

Fellow defender Samuel Umtiti, who missed a large chunk of last season thanks to a knee injury, also participated in training.

Barcelona beat Japanese side Vissel Kobe 2-0, but lost 2-1 to Chelsea earlier in pre-season. They will next face Arsenal and then Napoli before La Liga starts up again.
