Pictures: Again, Buhari meets Service Chiefs inside Villa

President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday presided over National Security Council meeting with service chiefs and heads of security agencies in the country. 

The close-door meeting, which was held at the president’s office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, lasted for over three hours.

Those who attended the meeting were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Gida Mustapha; National Security Adviser, Mr Mohammed Babagana Monguno; Minister of Defence, Mr Mansur Mohammed Dan-Ali; and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin.

Others were the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Abubakar Sadique; Director General of State Security Service (SSS), Mr Yusuf Bichi, and the and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mr Ahmed Abubakar. 

The security chiefs declined to speak on what transpired at the meeting. 

When asked to react to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) allegation of unethical conduct by military officials during governorship election in Rivers state, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, said, “wait for the IG.”

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr Mohammed Idris also declined to give details of what happened at the meeting, saying, “officially, there is no briefing.”
