Pillars confident of advancing

—CAF Champions League:

Kano Pillars are confident of qualifying for the next round of the CAF Champions League despite losing 3-1 to AS Vita Club of DR Congo in their first leg encounter last Sunday in Kinshasha.

Chairman of the Kano State-owned club, Abba Yola, while commenting on the warm reception by their hosts last weekend, noted that his side lost control of the game in the second half.

He, however, declared that the Glo Premier League champions will win the return duel at home this weekend.
“We will win the return leg match in Kano to move to the next round of the Champions League,” Yola assured.
“We lost control of the match in the second half, but have no complaints about the reception we received from our hosts.”
Pillars played much of the second period with a numerical disadvantage, after Bello Musa Kofarmata was sent off in the 54th minute.
