Kano Pillars on Friday posted another superlative performance in the ongoing DSTV Premier Basketball League when they proved superior against visiting Mark Mentors of Abuja, winning narrowly by 69-62.
In what looked like a hard-knock-to-crack encounter between the two bitter rivals, Kano Pillars which began on a threatening note saw themselves grappling as the game progressed and hanged on to victory.
Mark Mentors who are already eyeing a continental place at the end of this season had whitewashed Kada Stars of Kaduna 95-45 last weekend when they came knocking at the Package B of the Abuja National Stadium.
However, Kada Stars had their woes compounded after their second straight loss to Plateau Peaks on Friday. They failed 48 – 70 to the Jos-based team thereby leaving their chances of remaining at Savannah Conference on a shaky note.
Elsewhere, Niger Potters overcame home side Immigration 52 – 47 to step up top spot target. Also, Gombe Bulls tormented Bauchi Nets 85 – 45 in another thrilling tie decided in Gombe.
