Plateau: IGP tasks 456 police recruits on discipline, professionalism

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, Thursday, in Jos, said all the 10, 000  recruits into Force in 2022 will be redeployed back to their local government areas to help in curtailing security challenges in the country.

The IGP made this known at the formal passing out parade of the recruits held at the Police Training School Zaria road, Jos.

“This ceremony involves a total of ten thousand (10,000), trainees that commenced the training,” he said.

Four hundred and fifty six recruits graduated from the Jos training centre as constables.

Represented by Assistant Inspector General, Janet Agbagbede, IGP Baba said the event taking place simultaneously in 4 Premier Colleges and 12 Police Training Schools across the country, wrapped up six months of highly physical, and intellectual training activities signifying the transition of the recruits into mainstream professional policing duties with the right orientation to meet emerging security challenges within the dictates of the rule of law.

He said the passing out of the recruits was another giant stride by the federal government under President Muhammadu Buhari towards repositioning the Nigeria Police Force by addressing the lingering manpower gap in the Force, which has been inhibiting optimal police service delivery in this country.
