pledges to complete second phase of road project in Adamawa

The federal government has pledged to the people of Bangole – Kofare Community of Yola LGA Adamawa state that the second phase of the Project, which is to lay asphalt on the road will be done. The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole stated this during the commissioning of flood and erosion project in Bangole – Kofare LGA in Adamawa state. He noted that, the Project was executed by the Ecological Fund Office (EFO), which is in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). The Minister revealed that the extremely bad Jada road has been approved for construction and that the people would start seeing the evidence soon. He reiterated that as the Federal Government’s commitment to making Nigerians enjoy the dividends of Democracy in the Nation. He therefore implored the members of the Community to support the Federal Government, thus encouraging continuity of the present administration in serving the nation. Adewole commended their doggedness in ensuring timely and speedy completion of the Project. Responding, the Permanent Secretary of Ecological Fund Office (EFO), Dr. Mrs Habiba Lawal who was represented by Mr Awaal Sani, Deputy Director, EFO, noted that the intervention was to arrest the menace of soil erosion and flooding as well as to reduce threat to lives and property. He noted that the Project was initiated through a request for urgent intervention forwarded to EFO by a retired Permanent Secretary, Police Service Commission Alhaji Ahijo Bamanga. She stated that, timely completion of the Project is attributed to the tireless efforts of the Contractor and Consultant as well as the close monitoring and prompt honouring of all contractual obligations by the EFO. She said that the intention of the Commissioning and handover of the laudable Project is to encourage the takeover Project ownership by the benefiting Communities and also ensure that they take over the Project care and sustainability so that the resources which the Federal Government had committed to the Project is not wasted. She enjoined members of the Communities to ensure maintenance and protection of the Project.
