Plot to declare state of emergency in Taraba evil – Cleric

The leader of the Southern Conference of United Methodist Church of Nigeria (UMCN), Reverend Philip Micah Dopah, on Monday said plot to declare state of emergency in Taraba state by the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) was evil.

Reverend Micah, who stated this while briefing newsmen in Jalingo stated that the plan was uncalled for.

He said that Tarabans would resist such plans adding: “Taraba state is blessed by God,  and nothing can change the will of God for the people.”

He called on the federal government to order the the security agencies to arrest the governorship candidate of APC in the just concluded election.

“Even when Mr.  President came to Jalingo during his campaign, the candidate of APC told Buhari to provide him with security to enable him win the election.

“All the problems we are facing in Taraba state at the moment emanated from the security that was given to him. It is now I know that democracy is sick in Nigeria.

“A candidate who used thugs through out of the election to harass innocent people is going round freely without being arrested” he said.

According to him, Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), last week uncovered the plot by President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
