Ebonyi state Police command on Wednesday arrested Mr Simon Ugbala, the suspected ‘insane’ man who reportedly Killed 7 persons on Monday in Onyikwa Nkaleke, Ozibo community in Ebonyi local government area of the state .
The insane suspect was said to have killed another woman on Tuesday.
He was however arrested on Wednesday morning after several attempt was made to capture himby the youths of the community .
The suspect is now at Federal teaching hospital (FETHA 2) Abakaliki.
Police public relations officer ASP Odah Lovett who confirmed the arrest said that the man has been subjected to medical extermination to confirm if he is actually mentally ill.
“The man has been arrested and being subjected to medical extermination. Police is waiting for the medical result as that will determine the next action to take”.
Odah expressed sadness over the wonton killing and urged Ebonyi residents to always inform the police if there is any security threat in their locality, pointing that security is every man’s business.
The 35 years old Simon had on Monday kill his wife, and his 2 children, 3 members of the family and ambushed two school children on Tuesday and killed them.
The serial killer also killed his neighbor’s cow in the farm.
