Police arrest 10 over attack on artist’s office

The Police in Bauchi state have arrested 10 people following violent attack on an artist’s office which was reported at GRA Police Station on April 18, 2018. A statement by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Kamal Datti Abubakar, said that on the April 18, at about 10:30pm, some thugs armed with machetes and other dangerous weapons attacked an office in Reinsurance House Building, along Ahmadu Bello Way, Bauchi causing bodily injury to some people.
He named the suspects arrested in connection with the attack as: Alhaji Sunusi, 35; who is believed to be the gang leader; Musa Mohammed, 25; Ashiru Suleiman, 25; Abubakar Bello, 20; and Usman Abubakar, 20. Others are: Jamilu Garba, 21; Yusuf Dahiru, 25, aka ‘Eminem’; Abdulazeez Dabo, 25; and Kabiru Inuwa, 22. The PPRO stated that as a result of the violent attack five persons sustained machetes cuts, while one of them sustained fracture on his hand and leg. He said those who sustained injuries during that attack are: Aliyu Shamaki; Haruna Aliyu; Nazir M Nazir; Danjuma Hassan; and Jibrin alias JB.
According to the spokesperson, when the compliant was made, a combined team of Police from the GRA Division and Federal Special Anti- Robbery Squad (FSARS), Bauchi, swung into action and arrested the suspected attackers.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects, he said include: four cutlasses; One long knife; and some quantity of dry leave suspected to be Indian hemp. Abubakar said that all the suspects had voluntarily confessed to having participated in the attack and were charged to court on April 20.
