Police arrest 10 suspected kidnappers in Nasarawa 

The Police command in Nasarawa state has arrested 10 suspected kidnappers and 16 others for various criminal offences across the state in the last one month.

The Police Public Relation Officer,(PPRO) DSP, Ramhan Nansel, stated this Wednesday while parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Lafia, the state capital.

“On 30/4/2023 at about 1600hrs, while acting based on credible information, police operatives attached to Awe Division arrested the trio of Jibrin Idris 20 yrs of Doka village, Kaduna state, Manu Kauji 20 yrs, and Tukur Sule 20 yrs, both males of Tunga village, Awe LGA where 155 rounds of 7.62×39mm live ammunition were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.

“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed that they were sent by one Idris of Katsina state to purchase the ammunition at Ibi, Taraba state, before they were arrested at Tunga village, Awe LGA of Nasarawa state,” he said.

The command stated further that a team of mobile policemen attached to Operation Restore Peace stormed a kidnappers’ hideout located at Ambaka village of Farin Ruwa development area, Wamba LGA, rescued two kidnap victims and arrested five kidnappers.
