Police arrest 30 suspects over cult clash in Osun


Osun State Police Command Monday disclosed that thirty suspects have been apprehended in connection with the clash between rival cultists in Osogbo, on Sunday. 


The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, said the suspects were still undergoing screening and would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation. 


Three persons died during the clash between Eye and Aye confraternities at Obate area, Osogbo. 


A 33-year-old woman, Nafisat Owonikoko, of Aromole street, Ita-Olokan, Osogbo, reported that her 44-year-old husband, Sogo Owonikoko, aka Marley, was shot by a rival Aye cult group. 

She explained that Sogo, who was suspected to be member of Eye cult group, was shot about 10am at Obate area, Osogbo.
