Police arrests car thief, another for weapon possession

Enugu state police command has announced that it had arrested a car snatcher who had been on the Command’s wanted.
The suspect, Sunday Nome, who hails from Nkanu, Enugu state, was arrested by the operatives at Mgbemena Coal Camp axis of the state for allegedly stealing a brown Mazda with registration number AG 50 KFA, belonging to one Obasi.

This contained in a statement issued yesterday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Ebere Amarizu.
“The stolen car has been recovered as the suspect is now helping the police in their investigations,” he said.

In another development, the PPRO said their men on a stop-and-search duty at Emene on Enugu- Abakiliki road have arrested one Okolo John for carrying two live cartridges when a bus with registration no UWN 292 XA was intercepted.
The suspect was said to be carrying the cartridges from Miracle Zone, Onitsha, in Anambra state to Abakaliki in Ebonyi state.
According to the police, the weapon was concealed inside the vehicle, but was discovered in the course of a thorough search of the vehicle.
