Police confirm MACBAN leaders dead in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa state Police Command has confirmed the death of the state chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Mohammed Hussain.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Namsel Ramhan, on Saturday and made available to Blueprint in Lafia revealed that the unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani bandits attacked and killed the state MACBAN leader and Mohammed Umar, the chairman MACBAN in Toto local government area of the state at Garaku market.

According to the statement, the police upon receiving the information, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bola Longe, swiftly deployed Operation Puff Adder II personnel to the scene where the two corpses were recovered and taken to the hospital.

He said the corpses had been deposited at Anthony memorial mortuary for post mortem examination after they were confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

The commissioner of Police therefore, assured members of the public that the command will do all within its powers to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
