Police confirms as gunmen reportedly attack Anambra police station, set inmates free

Armed men Wednesday killed two police inspectors and released all detainees during an on Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area of .

The police stated that the station was attacked barely 24 hours after the new Commissioner of Police, Christopher Adetokumbo Owolabi, assumed office.

A source at the affected police station noted that the invaded the station on Wednesday night, killing two inspectors while all the detainees in the cell were released before razing down the police station.

The was confirmed by the spokesman of the command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, who noted that the commissioner of police has deployed a team to the scene of the incident to investigate the reason for the attack.
