Police foil bandits’ attack on Zamfara community

The tactical team of Zamfara state Police Command yesterday engaged a group of armed bandits who attempted to attack Tangaram community in Anka local government area of the state in gun battle.

The police image maker said, in the aftermath of that, one of the bandits was shot dead while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
Among the exhibits recovered from the bandits included Ak47 rifle with 16 rounds of live ammunition.
He said the scene and its environ had been subjected to coordinated bush combing to arrest the fleeing hoodlums.
Similarly, the command has embarked on massive intelligenceled raid in some identified criminal hideouts in the state in which 72 suspects in possession of 73 motorcycles suspected to be stolen have been arrested.
Shehu further stated that, all the suspects were in police custody undergoing interrogation and that they would be charged to court for prosecution as soon as investigations were completed.
The command also called on members of the public who lost their motorcycles to criminals through snatching or theft to come to the Command headquarters for verification and claiming.
