Police investigate man over friend’s death

The Edo State Police Command has commenced investigation into the circumstances the death of a hunter, one Mohammed Siaka, at Igarra, in the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the state.
Area Commander, Edo-North, Mr. Jinwan Dazong, told journalists at Auchi, that the Police investigation would determine whether the deceased was murdered by the Fulani herdsmen or his friend, Mr. Danjuma Isiaka.

He said Isiaka had accompanied the deceased on a hunting expedition when he met his death, adding that there appeared to be some contradiction in statements he made to the police.
According to him, “It was discovered that Isiaka who claimed they were attacked by come suspected Fulani herdsmen while hunting in the bush never told anyone about the attack.

“And even during the search for the deceased, he led the community’s search team to a different direction in the bush. The decomposing body of the late Siaka was eventually discovered by the search team four days after the incident had happened.”
The police boss explained that, “The Criminal Investigative Department (CID) is fully in charge of the case. The key suspect in the murder, Mr. Danjuma Isiaka, who accompanied the late Siaka on a hunting expedition, is now in the custody of the state CID.”
He assured the Igarra community that the police will get to the root of the matter.
