Police investigate man’s stabbing of six-year-old daughter

Police in Anambra state have commenced investigation into the death of a six-year-old girl, reportedly stabbed to death by her father.
The incident, which occurred on Friday, in Ndiagu Igboezue in Osikwu village, Awgbu, Orumba North Local Government Area, was said to have thrown the community into mourning.
Blueprint gathered that the deceased identified as Onyinye Aguluka was stabbed in her sleep by her father according to account given by the suspect’s wife, Mrs Georgina Aguluka.
Mrs Aguluka, who said the incident was a direct consequence of her husband’s drinking habit, disclosed that he ran away from the house.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), for Anambra state, SP Haruna Mohammed, who said investigation was on-going, assured that the Police would do all within its power to arrest the culprit.
