A letter of invitation written to Senator Omisore and exclusively obtained by our correspondent revealed that Omisore was invited by the police on October 27, 2017.
The letter was signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, state CIID, Umege Uzochukwu.
The letter titled “Invitation to Police stateCIID”, reads: you are invited to meet with the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, in connection with a case of assault occasioning harm, reported by late Senator Isiaka Adeleke against you.

“Looking forward to seeing you on 27th day of October, 2017 at about 12:00hrs pls.

The deceased had reported Omisore over an allege attack on him by Omisore at Ideal Nest Hotel, Osogbo, during a stakeholder meeting of the PSP.

Late Adeleke had accused the former Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan, Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore, and another PDP chieftain, Sogo Agboola of beating him up at the premises of the hotel on April 2, 2014.

Late Adeleke had therefore defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, where he was returned to the Senate before his death this year.

He had given evidence before a panel of inquiry instituted by Governor Rauf Aregbesola before his death.

Given evidence before the panel, late Adeleke said, “On entering the hotel lobby, the venue of the meeting, I saw Senator Iyiola Omisore, Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan and Sogo Agboola sitting together. I then complained to Adesiyan that police officers and SSS operatives were holding party members outside.

“But instead of listening to me, he (minister) jumped over a table and hit me with a blow on the chest. He was equally joined by Sogo Agboola to beat me while Senator Omisore hit me with a blow from the back simultaneously. About seven cocked guns were pointed at me by police officers that were with the duo of Adesiyan and Omisore.

Meanwhile, it was not ascertained wether the Senator honoured the police invitation as the Police Public Relation Officer, Mrs Folasade Odoro did not answer the call nor respond to message sent to her mobile phone.

A police source said that the Senator did not come to the command on the 27, saying he could not say it he writes or send any representative.
