Police launches ‘operation puff adder’ in Edo

Edo state police command Thursday inaugurated a special force code-named operation ‘operation puff adder’ to fight criminality.

The State commissioner of police, Dan-Mallam Mohammed said the outfit is ‘based on the principles of community policing and intelligence’.

The CP explained that the inauguration is in compliance with the directives of Inspector General of Police aimed at checkmating criminals and their sponsors.

Also, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, zone 5, D. P. Yakadi said: ‘Puff Adder’ is a robust security action plan.

Represented by a deputy CP, Emmanuel Effiom said the plan include massive deployment of trained and motivated personnel.

He charged the team to ‘display high level of discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties’.
