Police parade 16 suspects in Kogi

Kogi state Police Command on Wednesday paraded 16 armed robbers ,  kidnappers and other heinous crime suspects who have been terrorising the state .

Parading the suspects at the headquarters of the command in Lokoja , the state Commissioner of Police Mr Hakeem Busari said the “Operation Puff adder” which was launched in Kogi state last month had started yielding results following the arrest of the suspects.

According to him, Daniel Nyibe, Mohammed Saleh , Amachu isah Aloko and Muhammed Saibu were arrested for being responsible for the series of kidnapping incidents between Kogi and Nasarawa state.

The Commissioner noted that the five suspects have confessed to be members of kidnap syndicates terrorising the state, adding that two pump action guns and 20 live cartridges was recovered from them .

Also paraded for armed robbery are Osiri Peter, Muhammed Abdul and Suleiman Sule who were arrested at Ganaja village in Lokoja through a tip off, that unknown armed robbers who specialised in snatching motorcycle from cyclist at gun point in Kogi state have extended their tentacles to Wada road area.

Busari said the operatives of “Operation Puff adder” swung into action in synergy with the local vigilante and arrested the three suspects while their victim was rescued.

A kidnap suspects Samaila Isiaka and Sani Mohammed were also arrested and paraded for kidnapping one Yunusa Audu at Odo-Ape Fulani camp Kabba Bunu.

Busari noted that all the suspects have admitted to have committed the crime , saying they will soon be arraigned in the court of law for prosecution after the completion of investigation.
