Police parade 42 criminal suspects in Nasarawa

The police command in Nasarawa state, Wednesday, paraded 42 suspects arrested for various criminal offences.

The suspects according to the command, were arrested between two weeks in the month of June 2021.

Parading the suspects before journalists in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital, Commissioner of Police Mr. Bola Longe, disclosed that sometimes  this month operatives of the command had raided and cleared criminal hideout in Aso-Pada black spot and led to the arrest of five suspected armed ribbers.

CP Longe, added that the command had also dismantled and neutralised the criminal network of various syndicates involved in the vandalism of Nigeria Railway Corporation tracks in the state and led to the arrest of 15 suspects.

“This has yielded a string of successes with the arrest of 15 more suspected railway tracks vandals, their sponsors and accomplices,” he said.

He explained further that a cult group that has been disturbing the peace of residents as well as other suspected criminals involved in kidnapping were also arrested.

“Notorious cultists/serial killer Oodo Moro”M” aka Papa shokey, the leader of the Black Axe confraternity in Ogbadibo LGA of Benue state who relocated to Karu LGA of Nasarawa state where he was seen recruiting and initiating youths into his criminal cult in preparation for a reprisal attack on a rival cult group in Benue state has also been arrested,” he said.

He said during the operation, five fire arms, one stolen vehicle, eight live ammunitions, one hand set and others were recovered.

The CP however, cautioned residents to be security conscious and assured them of adequate security.
