Police parade 7 robbery suspects in Yobe

The Yobe state police command yesterday paraded seven armed robbery suspects, who specialised in terrorising Nguru-Kano road in the northern part of the state.
Parading the suspects before newsmen at the state police command Damaturu, the state commissioner of Police, Mr. Marcus Danladi, said the suspects had been carrying out various operations along the road which links Yobe through Jigawa to the commercial city of Kano state.

According to the CP, the suspected armed robbers blocked the road and killed a driver conveying goods from Kano to Nguru as investigation by men of the Nguru police division later revealed, which led to the arrest of one of the suspects who later exposed the remaining six.
Marcus confirmed also that all the seven suspects admitted carrying out sustained armed robbery operations along the route.

CP disclosed further that on completion of the police investigation the suspects will be charged to court.
Marcus further called on the people of the state to accord the needed support to security agents assuring that with such cooperation, crimes would be wiped out completely in the state.
Items recovered from the suspects include one locally made pistol, bows and arrows, machetes as well as sticks.
Blueprint reports that the parade of the armed robbery suspects was coming three days after the command recovered some arms and ammunitions, while on patrol of Bara the Gulani local government headquarters of the state.
