Osun state police command has paraded two brothers who allegedly operate the ritualists den discovered in Ilobu, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.
According to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye, items recovered in the den revealed that criminal activities have been going in the place for a long time.
Adeoye stated that the den was discovered at a building around Molete area of the town. He said many shrines and several adjoining houses used by the suspected ritualists were also discovered.
He said the police acted on a tip off which led to the arrest of two brothers of same parent, saying their leader and kingpin are still at large.
Adeoye said that the police also discovered a dungeon with path, which connects one of the shrines to another. He said several statues and hundreds of bottles of alcoholic drink were seen, scattered around the shrine.
According to the CP, some shallow graves were also seen scattered around the building. He said the police would investigate thoroughly to ascertain whether they are graves of some of their victims who might have died in their custody.
However, Adeoye appealed to the people of the state to support the police in making the state a crime free place. He assured that the police would protect whoever gives them information that could help them nip crime in the bud.
