Police promotes Force PR0, Mba, 8915 senior officers


The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of Force Public Relations Office (FPRO), Frank Mba, and 8,915 other senior Police officers to their next substantive ranks to fill existing vacancies.

A press statement by PSC, Head, Press, and Public Relations, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, Sunday in Abuja, said the promotions were the high points of the 5th Plenary Meeting of the Commission held in Abuja on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 26 and 27, 2019 and presided over by its Chairman, IGP Musiliu Smith (retd).

“The commission approved the promotion of three Commissioners of Police   (CPs) to the next rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs). They are: Jona Jackson Mava; Olushola Babajide David and Titus Sumba Larmode,” the statement said.

The spokesperson said the acting appointments of two CPs were also confirmed and named the beneficiaries as: Rudolf Echebi Obe, Works and Danladi B. Lalas, Air Wing.

He said 71 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) were elevated to the next rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) including the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank MBA.

Others include: Ogundare D. Emmanuel; Alonge Adebowale; Augustina Nwuka Ogbodo; Ibrahim Abdullahi; Garba Ahmed; Uzuegbu Kanayo; Zubairu Abubakar; Vincent N. Nwajiofor (works), Polycarp Chilaka Dibia and Emeka.

Similarly, 102 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) were also promoted to ACP including: Michael M. Masomene; Egbe Eko Edum; Onyeamu Akaeme Onyeamu; Dauda I. Ayuba; Chinedu C. Ugwu; Moses Gana; Victor Akongtender Bepeh; Aminu Musa; Danjuma Madugu; Promose Chinedu Udeh; Anthony Okon Placio; Ikechukwu E. Nwosu; Okey C. Nwabufo; Ayodeji A. Dagunduro; Kanu Kanu Okoronkwo (works); Agbo B. Usman (forensic); Mustapha A. Rufai.

Ani said the commission also promoted 487 Deputy Superintendents of Police to Superintendents (DSPs) new rank of Superintendents of Police (SP) including: Personal Assistant to the acting Inspector General of Police; Atiku Ibrahim; Florence Odewo; Ojo Abraham; Mohammed Idris and Abraham Ogedengbe.

Also, 165 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) were promoted to the next rank of DSP, while 7086 Inspectors were elevated to the rank of ASP.

He said the promotions would be conveyed to the acting Inspector General of Police, Monday, in a letter signed by Permanent Secretary  and Secretary to the Commission, Nnamdi Maurice Mbaeri.
