Police recover single lady’s body in Minna 72 hours after death

Residents of Kaffin Tella area of Minna, Niger state were yesterday engulfed in grief following the discovery of the corpse of a lady, identified as Ifeayinwa Ozoagu, 72 hours after she passed away.

Miss Ozoagu was said to have died in her rented apartment behind Galazy School without the knowledge of her co-tenants who thought she was out of the premises.

Blueprint learnt that they co-tenants and her neigbours began to worry about her when for three days she did not show up while foul odor began to ooze out of her apartment.

The concerned neighours were said to have called the deceased junior sister, Ijindika Ozoagu, who resides in another part of Minna before the police were informed of the development.

It was learnt that operatives from the Tundun Wada Division of the state Police Command broke open the locked door of the apartment only to discover the decomposing body of Ifeayinwa.

The body of Ifeayinwa, who was said to be living alone at the apartment was eventually evacuated by officials of the Niger State Environmental Disposal Agency (NISEPA) and deposited at Minna general hospital.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Police Command, DSP Muhammad Abubakar, confirmed the incident to our reporter in Minna yesterday.
