Police recruitment screening begins Monday – PSC

Police Service Commission (PSC), yesterday, said recruitment of 6, 000 into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as Constables will begin on Monday, May 7, 2018, at the Police Command Headquarters in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

A press statement by the Commission’s spokesperson, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, in Abuja, said: “The exercise will start with screening of the applicant’s physical attributes and their credentials.”

He said invitations have been sent to applicants who are expected to report at the screening venues on days indicated in their invitations, noting that 133,324 applicants were expected to be screened during the exercise.

“Kaduna state has the highest number of applicants with 6962, while Lagos state has the least with 1013, just as Katsina state with 6676 has the second highest applicants followed by Benue and Niger states with 6474 and 6409, respectively.

“Similarly, Bayelsa state has the second least applicants with 1097 followed by Anambra that has 1117 and Ebonyi state with 1303.”

The spokesperson further stated that the PSC has deployed its staff to the 36 states and the FCT with Chairman of the Commission, IGP Mike Okiro (retd.), as national coordinator. He said while addressing the staff , yesterday in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Commission, Mr. Musa Istifanus, warned that PSC “will sanction any staff found to compromise the assignment.”

The spokesperson said Istifanus also warned applicants to conduct themselves properly, adding that anybody that had nothing to do with the exercise should not be found within the vicinity of the screening.
