Police in Borno state has said that there will be restriction of vehicular movements today, being EidelKabirSallah day.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Victor Isuku said that the restriction will remain in force till the end of Eid prayers.
“Restrictions will include the use of motor vehicles, tricycles, bicycles and animals, except those on essential duties,” it read in part.
Th e police also advised Muslim faithful to pray at Eid grounds nearest to them, and ensure that they “go early for security screening.
” “Parents who go with their kids are also asked to look after them, to avoid incidents of missing children.
” Th e police statement further warned that anyone caught with knives or other dangerous weapons at prayer grounds, or recreational areas, will be prosecuted.
Th e statement added that the Borno State Commissioner of Police, CP Damian Chukwu had assured that the people of the force’s commitment to ensure a crime-free Sallah celebration.
