Police return to streets in Osun


Osun state police command has vowed to return to the streets and begin patrol in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Muhammed Adamu. 


A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, stated that the Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, has directed the police to collaborate with other security agencies and begin patrol of all the nook and crannies of the state to reclaim the public place from criminals. 


Since the beginning of EndSARS protest, policemen have shut divisions and non of them has appeared in uniform in the public. 


Osun CP condemned destruction of properties by hoodlums, saying “these unlawful acts shall no longer be tolerated, as all legitimate means shall henceforth be applied to halt further acts of lawlessness.  

The CP also urge the stakeholders not to relent in their selfless efforts until normalcy is restored.


He urged the public to report any suspicious person and give information concerning looters or where looted items are kept to the nearest police station.
