Police seek collaboration to combat crime

The new Divisional Police Officer( DPO) in charge of Kuje division, Kuje area council, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Mohammed Aminu, has promised to team up with the community members with a view to combating crime in Kuje and its environs.
He made the promise recently at a forum in Kuje while interacting with stakeholders who paid him a courtesy call in his office, and charged them to support community policing with a view to tackling security challenges that might crop up in the area.
Aminu gave the assurance that the area would be adequately protected at all times, even as he warned them against taking laws into their hands, advising aggrieved individuals should always channel their grievances to the appropriate authorities.
The police boss encouraged residents of the area to go about their legitimate business without fear of harassment or molestation from any quarter and assured them that police would continue to put on adequate measures to nib crimes in the bud.
He equally assured stakeholders in Kuje and environs that police would always treat information in confidence and called on vigilantes in the area to always carry out their activities efficiently.
He also charged community and religious leaders to be monitoring movement of strangers visiting the communities.
