Police storms illicit drug dealers hideout, recovers cash, indian hemp


The Ogun State Police Command Tuesday stormed the hideout of some Illicit drugs dealers at Mayas, Lafenwa in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.


Addressing Newsmen at the Police Headquarters, Eleweran Thursday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Ajogun psc noted that the recovery is a testament that the state will be tough on criminals under his watch.


He added that the operation is sequel to a careful analysis of available information which revealed that the area is being patronized by criminals including armed robbers, kidnappers, cultists and internet fraudsters.


The CP however maintained that efforts is being made to track down the dealers who escaped with some of their agents.


He also reteraites that under his watch, the Ogun State Police Command is committed to chasing drug barons, their agents and criminal associates out of business, adding that it will not relent in its efforts until the goal is achieved.


Items recovered includes, 110 parcels of weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp, 55 packs of Codeine, 2 packs of Emzoline, 4 packs of Pandeen expectorant and 12 packs of Rephnol.


Other items recovered are, 3 packs of backwood honey, 1 carton of max caugh codeine, Battle axes, cutlasses, dangerous charms and the cash sum of N2,222,750 ( Two Million, two hundred and twenty two thousand, seven hundred and fifty naira only)
