Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters were tear gassed yesterday in Gumel during its North West zonal rally.
Blueprint correspondent who was at the rally reports that police stopped the rally from holding at the proposed venue, which was closer to the market place.
However, when the former Governor of the state, Alhaji Sule Lamido arrived at the venue of the rally, he assured party supporters that the rally is going to be rescheduled in Gumel.
Lamido also assured the PDP supporters that anybody to be elected or re-elected governor of the state must be an indigene of Jigawa.
He urged party supporters to struggle hard and defy all intimidation to elect PDP candidates into various positions.
Our correspondent gathered that the Police had withdrawn the permit given to PDP earlier for some unknown reasons.
