Police warn on disclosing ATM pin numbers

Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force has advised members of the public to be weary of disclosing their Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card Pin number as well as that of their Bank Verification Number (BVN) to people to avoid unpleasant consequences of hoodlums wrecking havoc on their bank account.
The Command also advised good people of the state to also be weary of those who will pretend to assist them to withdraw money from Automated Teller Machine point with their ATM cards as such people might be mischief maker(s) desirous to cash in on such opportunity to get their pin number and change their card without them knowing and thereafter, wreck havoc on their account.
“The Command wish to further inform members of the public that this piece of information has became necessary in view of intelligence information gathered about the antics of these mischief makers who try to reap from where they did not sow just as the command have unmasked and arrested kingpin involved in this unwholesome act and who is helping the police operatives in their investigations,” the police image maker, Ebere Amaraizu, has disclosed in a release.
