Polio: We’ve no single case in 60 months – Ganduje

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has disclosed that the state has not recorded outbreak of polio disease for 60 months.

Ganduje made the disclosure Monday during the flag-off ceremony of August 2019 National Immunization plus days (NIPDs) held at Tsalle town in Gezawa local government area.

“It is part of the cardinal agenda of this administration to eradicate polio and fight against the spread of other Child-killer diseases in the State. This is the reason behind our outstanding achievement in spending good 60 months without the outbreak of polio in Kano “he revealed.

Represented by his Deputy Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, Ganduje maintained that the success recorded on polio was the outcome of the state government’s commitment to improve the health sector in the last four.

“It is obvious that our administration in the last four years has succeeded in accomplishing our campaign promises especially on health. These include construction/upgrading of hospitals across 44 Local Government areas, procurement of new working facilities and training of health personnel among others “Ganduje said.
