Political impunity in Kaduna By Jamilu Bello Dogarawa, Gyallesu, Zaria

They say democracy is government of the people, for the people and by the people! But democracy in Nigeria has turned out be a battle for those struggling for power.
Those struggles make some blind and sort of make it as a do or die affair.
Dangerous game, maneuvers and reckless vendetta have become the hallmarks of our politicians.
Well meaning individuals in Kaduna state have since expressed their dismay with the way the infighting in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was being handled both at the state and the national levels.
These in fightings have assumed a very frightening dimension in APC states and at the national level.
It is becoming really worrisome in Kaduna state how politicians in factions of the APC in have lost the vision of working to develop the state that has suffered neglect and stagnation by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
And the APC has not fared well as a party given the way the current government in the state is terminating appointments and premature retirement of thousands of its workers.
The government should be concerned with security and safety of people and property of the state, unfortunately, it has allowed itself to be misguided by notoriously ambitious reckless politicians who are hell bent on realizing their ambitions to the detriment of the people.
The government seems engrossed in governance and party affairs but only in Government House.
This is madness! How can a responsible government demolish the houses belonging to the masses on a flimsy excuse that the lands were wrongly acquired.
These are people who are struggling to feed themselves.
And the demolition of offices of a faction of the APC is show of intolerance further heating the polity.
This is a party that is supposed to work and entrench peaceful coexistence in the state, instead it is creating fear and showing signs that it is not for peace.
It is very unfortunate.
The two senators of zones I and 2 are key political gladiators in the state and have immensely contributed to the feud.
They are so ambitious and have mortgaged the mandates entrusted in them on the altar of greed and selfishness.
Our fears are that when the feud becomes deepened and intense violence may set in and loss of lives of innocent of people and properties become inevitable.
“When two elephants fight, the grass suffers’, it is said.
With the recent trends of suspension and queries to the governor and his cronies, the squabble has taken a dimension too frightening.
We should be doing the needful to save the soul of the innocent.
