It seems the folks over at speedArt thinks the 992-generation Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S could do with more power, with the German firm recently unveiling its latest tuning packages for Stuttgart’s iconic sportscar.
Based on either the 911 Carrera or Carrera S (seen here in cabriolet guise), the SP92-R features myriad aerodynamic, mechanical and performance upgrades. Starting with the latter, the Carrera-based variant’s 3,0-litre flat-six motor has been modified to produce 75 kW and 150 N.m of torque more than standard for a total output of 358 kW and 600 N.m.
Two tuning packages are offered for the S-badged Carrera, the first of which upgrades the standard outputs of 331 kW and 530 N.m to 376 kW and 630 N.m. The second available upgrade enhances the standard power figure to 406 kW while torque is on par with that of the former upgrade.
Bar the upgrades made to the ECU, further modifications have been made to the eight-speed PDK transmission. Updated coil-over suspension setups and a sports exhaust system are on offer. The modified 911 seen here rides on a set of Fox-Evo-II forged alloy wheels, which can be had in silver or gold. Enhancing aerodynamics, the SP92-R is equipped with additional front and rear spoilers.
speedArt has yet to announce how these updates have influenced the donor 911s’ performance. As a reminder, the standard 911 Carrera cabriolet has a claimed zero to 100 km/h time of 4,4 seconds (or 4,2 seconds when specifying the Sports Chrono package) and tops out at 291 km/h. The 911 Carrera S cabriolet, meanwhile, completes the obligatory zero to 100 km/h sprint in a claimed 3,7 seconds (or two tenths of a second quicker when fitted with Sports Chrono) before reaching a top speed of 306 km/h.
